【故事背景-時間】Today I want to talk about a story I heard when I was a child. 

【故事背景-介紹】It was about a famous figure in Chinese history called Jingwei. She was the youngest daughter of Emperor Yan, the extraordinary ruler of early China. One day, jingwei was sailing at sea and out of the blue a strong blast of wind rose and capsized her boat. At that moment, she was engulfed by the waves but her spirit turned into a bird flying over the sea.

【故事背景-介紹】She was so furious about the sea and decided to fill it up. She then took her courage in both hands and started to carry a twig or pebble from the mountain and dropped it into the sea. People were jeering at her but she would never hang back.

【描述故事的感受】The story is oft-quoted to encourage people to achieve their goals persistently with all powers.
