Unsustainable farming practices to feed our growing world population, together with excessive mining behavior and so on, are consuming resources faster than they can be replaced, which, if continuing unabated, can cause many adverse effects on ecology and economy. Luckily, these problems can be solved.

There are problems behind energy overconsumption; one is that it will ruin the environment. Making things worse, human intervention in deforesting, farming, and polluting freshwater is depriving animals and plants of their habitats. This will threaten them with extinction. Another adverse effect we need to examine is that on the economy. As resources are becoming scarcer while the demand stays constant or even increases, the price of natural resources is set to rise significantly over time. This change is particularly hampering the economic growth in underdeveloped countries whose development heavily relies on the resources they may no longer be able to afford.

Despite the numerous problems related to energy use, workable solutions exist. Firstly, to mitigate resource depletion, the government should introduce how detrimental the energy crisis is by media coverage. In this way, there will be a trend where, for example, the use of plastic and the disposal of things are seen as indecent, and resultingly, more resources will be saved. Secondly, it is a vital step to switch from non-renewable energies to alternative clean and renewable energies. With a proper budget permitted to develop renewable energy, scientists will be able to harness atomic, solar, and wind energy, with which the reliance on fossil ones can be reduced.
